Making Heimat is a small book with a collection of essays and interviews on the occasion of the 15th International Architecture Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia as a contribution to the German Pavilion. The publication reflects on migration and its consequences focusing on the roles played by urbanism and architecture.
A blue line throughout the whole book connects all chapter titles. While on the printing sheets the line is continiously, when cut, bound and assabled to the final book, what seems as an orientation becomes disorienting. This non-linear aspect is a refference to the tracks of migrants on their way searching for a new „Heimat“.
